Serving As

  • Senior Pastor
  • Preaching & Teaching
  • Evangelism & Apologetics

Henry Christopher Minter is a native of Selma, Alabama, where he both accepted Christ and answered the call to preach. At the tender age of seventeen he preached his first sermon, and in the years since he has gathered a wealth of ministry experience — developing and leading ministries, and serving as a sought-after revival and retreat speaker and a counselor for men, women, and families.

Pastor Minter has more than twenty-five years of experience teaching evangelism and apologetics. He served as Assistant Pastor and Minister of Music at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church from 2008 to 2014, and in March of 2014 he answered the call to serve as Senior Pastor of Isabella Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler, Alabama, where he shepherded the flock for ten years.

His heart for community runs deep. He founded Saved With Amazing Grace (S.W.A.G.), which partners with county, city, and private schools by donating household appliances, school supplies, and his own time — and Armies of Fathers, Inc., a non-profit that spotlights boys being mentored by men of faith. He has also had the privilege of writing grants for his beloved city of Selma.

Pastor Minter holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Biblical Studies from King James Bible College. He has been named Pastor of the Year by the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (Selma), and is a three-time recipient of the Who's Who honor from Harvard, Princeton, and the Covington Global Network for Ministry. He and his wife, Shallah, were united in marriage in 2024 and are the proud parents of one son, Daryus.

Pastor Minter loves nothing more than connecting personally with God's people while teaching them God's Word and encouraging them to live out their faith daily. He preached his first sermon as pastor of The Historic Bethsaida Baptist Church on Sunday, July 5th, 2026 — and the church family is rejoicing in the season God has begun.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
